TORSO!1

TORSO!1 is set to hit the web by January, 2007! To kick things off, we're making the theme for our first issue . . . TORSOS. Or TORSI. Or just one TORSO. . . . We can't quite decide.

This is what the American Heritage Dictionary had to say about "torso."
tor·so
(tôr'sō) n. pl. tor·sos or tor·si (-sē)
1. The human body excluding the head and limbs; trunk.
2. A statue of the human body with the head and limbs omitted or removed.
3. A truncated or unfinished thing.

Be creative! Don't take the theme literally. Do take the theme literally! Do whatever the fuck you feel like, as long as you can rationalize TORSO as a creative concept. Be strong! Kick some ass and take some torsos along for the ride.

Submissions are being accepted up until January 1st, 2007. For contribution information, see here.

I want to contribute!

Great!

What is "TORSO!"?

TORSO! is an independent and uncensored artistic property owned and organized by creative-minded people.

Published as a seasonal online magazine,
TORSO! runs off of contribution-based work. Every issue, visual artists, journalists, writers and creative individuals are asked to create work based on a predesignated theme. Once a year, TORSO! releases a printable annual, compiling the four issues released that year.

TORSO! supports video, music and other interactive media via VI.TA.MU.NS, an online supplement to TORSO!. Please investigate VI.TA.MU.NS for further information.

While TORSO! is a nonprofit collaboration, it stands as a great creative outlet and a strong artistic community.

Please contact us at
theinvisiblehead@gmail.com with any further questions.
